Discover the cost, scope, and design details of these two walk-in shower remodels completed in one Elk City household.

Lisa and Andre Planned a Single Walk-In Shower Remodel. Was the Deal ZINTEX Offered to Remodel Both of Their Showers Worth It?

When Lisa and Andre first contacted ZINTEX, they only had one project in mind. Andre wanted to replace the tub-and-shower combo in the hall bathroom, the bathroom he uses daily, with a walk-in shower. During their consultation, it came up that the shower Lisa uses in the primary bathroom had sustained damage. Once their design consultant, Logan, talked to them about the great deal he could offer if they chose to remodel both showers at the same time, they decided that a double walk-in shower remodel was the way to go.

Lisa and Andre’s Primary Goals

Eradicating mold and water damage

Both the hall shower and the primary shower were showing signs of damage, including mold growth. These bathrooms would need some moderate mold remediation behind the walls before replacing the old fiberglass and tile systems with moisture-resistant acrylic. Plus, new brushed nickel showerheads would help to limit the mineral buildup caused by hard water, a common issue in western Oklahoma homes.

Improving aesthetics

The fiberglass tub-shower combo in the hall bathroom was bland and outdated, and Lisa and Andre wanted something a little more attractive. While the primary walk-in shower had an aesthetically pleasing tile design, that exposed grout was attracting mold and wasn’t worth the hassle. By pairing premium shower walls with complimentary shower bases and accessories, Lisa and Andre were able to modernize their bathrooms and increase the aesthetic appeal.

Improving functionality

Ease of maintenance was a top priority in both bathrooms, but especially in the hall bathroom, that would serve Andre on a regular basis, but also guests. Acrylic is already much easier to clean than the materials they had, but they wanted to make sure that the hall bathroom was as quick and easy to clean as possible. They opted for a standard shower rod to cut down on the surface area that would need their attention.

How Logan Addressed the Durability Concerns Lisa and Andre Had Going Into Their Shower Remodel

One thing Lisa wanted to know about going into her ZINTEX remodel was durability. Her current shower was only three years old, but due to installation errors that ultimately cracked her fiberglass shower base and mold growth in the tile and grout walls, she had to have it replaced very prematurely.

Logan didn’t just offer them a great deal on these two shower upgrades. He also walked them through the ZINTEX installation materials and methods that guarantee a 100% waterproof shower system.

Between the strength of our materials, the experience our installers bring, and the limited lifetime warranty on all products and labor, their new showers will last a minimum of 15 years before showing real wear and tear.

The Bigger Picture:

Estimating the ROI of These New Elk City Walk-In Showers

Ideally, you want individual remodeling projects to cost between 5-10% of your home’s current property value. Based on recent Zillow data, the medium list price of Elk City properties is $206,800. That means the ideal range for any Elk City upgrade is about $10,400-$20,800, and both of these walk-in showers fell within that range with room to spare.

How could these new showers impact Lisa and Andre’s property value? A mid-range bathroom update (like a new walk-in shower with a combination of standard and premium features) can yield an ROI of up to 80% in 2026.

While the value of their new showers may depreciate slightly over the years, they could add up to roughly $25,200 to Lisa and Andre’s total property value. (Plus, if they were to sell in the next two years, they’d also be able to transfer their ZINTEX warranty to the next homeowner.)

Where These Showers Land in the ZINTEX Walk-In Shower Price Range

On our website, you’ll find a breakdown of our typical walk-in shower price range, which is roughly $11,000-$22,000+ total. Where does this project land in our overall price range?

At $14,588, Andre’s hall shower lands in the standard category. His shower is a standard size, has two corner shelves, and uses a shower rod enclosure. Even at our lowest price point, this shower was outfitted with stunning brushed nickel hardware. Andre was also able to upgrade to a premium showerhead, which goes to show that the categories outlined above aren’t exact, and there is wiggle room in the design process.

At $16,954, Lisa’s primary shower lands on the low end of our intermediate price range. This is largely due to the grab bar and sliding glass enclosure, but also reflects some of the structural repairs her shower space needed after sustaining some water damage.

How Much Would Your ZINTEX Project Cost?

Lisa and Andre contacted ZINTEX with one project in mind. After talking to Logan about the great deal we could offer them to redo their damaged primary shower too, they decided it was the right call, and wound up 100% satisfied with their bathroom upgrades.
